My first Mama Chapp

Today I finally got my first Mama Chapp doll and boy do I love her. I got bumped with customs fees and they held her hostage for several days, but finally she came home this morning at around 10:00am. Love at first sight would probably be the best way to explain seeing her. She is just the sweetest little thing and I always love unwrapping a brand new toy, nothing beats that feeling. Yes some may argue that it’s childish, but I don’t care, I love throwing myself into cute new toys grinning from ear to ear. I never grew out of that.

One thing a quickly realised is that she appeals to me in a completely different way to which my dollfies and bjd do. I think that primarily, it’s her size and poseability. She may be much smaller, but she poses much better then both my bjd and my dollfie dreams, she can hold a pose better too. Also her size, I just adore it. She’s the perfect portable companion.

I used to collect pinky street figures and would carry one or two out and about everywhere just to make impulse photos and such. I really missed doing that with my bjd and dollfies, because they’re too big and heavy to take everywhere, it’s just impractical. But at 1/6 scale, Mama Chapp is perfectly sized to pop in your handbag and go.

I can really see me owning more 1/6 scale dolls now. Not just Mama Chapp, but Azone, Obitsu and Vols dollfie too. I am just totally in love with this scale. I was always weary about paying so much money for such small dolls (which probably sounds weird coming from someone who pays anywhere up to $600  for bigger dolls) but I’ve always loved the likes of Azone dolls (especially the pure neemo line) and also the Volks Lost Angels Story dollfies. But always thought they were ‘too small’.  How completly wrong I was.

Although I still love my bjd and dollfie dream’s dearly, I can really see me getting into 1/6 scale dolls now. Watch this space and I’m sure you’ll see more of them popping up (although I promise to keep up the bjd and dd content too!)

I know I for sure want to get Azone’s Pure Neemo Yuno now (and their upcoming Nagi will be tempting), I’d also like to get the Parabox Pawns to and who knows what else will follow.

I love the feeling of finding something that really feels just so perfect for you, it’s so much fun.  There is just one problem…
