Konata Izumi figma

Whats so funny?

Whats so funny?

Today I got my Konata Figma that I ordered from Archonia. She arrived really fast actually considering she was coming from Europe and I used the cheapest shipping method possible. I really recommend their shop.

I’m pretty please about the figma too, she is not without her flaws though. The figure, great, fine, brilliant as expected. The stand? Not so good.

The stands peg won’t fit into the hole on Konata’s head. It’s completely useless. It just will not fit in the hole. It will insert into the hole in her back fine, but won’t insert into the hole in the head. So whats a girl to do? I didn’t want to mod the hair in anyway for fear of damaging the paint job. So it had to be the stand to go under the knife.

What I did is I took my craft knife and trimmed the peg down. I then used the knife again to score lots of cuts into the plastic peg. I have coated the peg with epoxy putty, the score lines were to give the putty something to really stick into. Once the putty has cured overnight, I will sand it gradually until the peg is the right diameter to insert into the head.

Konata is supposed to be a Christmas present for myself, so I should put her away really until Christmas day. However I don’t want to have to faff around doing this work on Christmas day so I figured she could sit around on my desk for now until the stand issue has been resolved.

  1. I haven’t had problem with stands being too big, but I have had a few that were too loose. I haven’t gotten around to fixing them because I’m not sure what to do. Sounds like you don’t have problem with her front hair piece, that’s good. It’s really hard to buy stuff in December that you intend on saving for Christmas then not opening it, same for birthdays.
